THE NEXT GREAT
PERFORMANCE SIRE!

We are so excited to be offering you a chance to breed to this outstanding young stallion. He is a barrel money winner in the 1D and a Mid-States Rodeo Finals qualifier. He is very smooth and collected around the barrels yet he has phenomenal speed and quickness too.  He is powerful out of his turns and truly loves running barrels.  It is bred into him and he passes it to his offspring.

"Backdraft" is finished in the heading and the heeling.  He is amazingly "cowy". He runs hard to cattle, has natural rate when he gets to them, and has a deep stop. Besides arena work, he has been used for calving, dragging calves at brandings and other ranch work and he loves it! He never quits, he just keeps going even after working all day. (see photos and videos)

He is passing these great qualities (both physical and mental) onto his offspring, showing us that he is going to be a pre-potent sire that stamps his foals with his greatness!  His foals get BIG hips, short backs and are friendly and athletic!

Intelligence, Speed, Quickness, Conformation and "Cow" wrapped up in a Calm, Even-Tempered Stud. If you are looking for an athletic, even tempered, hard working, structurally correct, willing to please stallion, you need to breed to IMA FIREFIGHTER!

4 YEAR OLD

PROMOTIONAL VIDEO

This is the first video we made of him!  This video footage was done at my parents in SD.  It is a beautiful ranch and I have wonderful memories of growing up there! My mom would lead him away from me, then turn him loose and he would run back.  He could have ran off, but he would let us catch him and do it again so we could get enough footage for the video! Except for the end when we let him run down the draw, then he just kept on going right back to the house!

Fire Water Flit:

Bugs Alive In 75  Bugs Alive In 75, Quarter Horse Race Sire

Bugs Alive In 75 was a World Champion and All American Futurity Winner who also earned his Superior Performance.

He also established himself a a leading broodmare sire:  He has been  #1 on  Maternal Grandsires List numerous times! from sept 2010 Barrel Horse News: " for the last three years, Bugs Alive In 75 has had an average of 236 grandget pull in more than $1.4 million in 10-year earnings.  He is the only Maternal Grandsire to have earned over $1 Million per decade in each of the last eat years, including a six year run where his total grandget's 10 year earnings increased each year, an unprecedented stretch for a Maternal Grandsire"

He sired World Champion Offspring, Superior Performance Offspring, AQHA Champion Offspring, ROM Performance Offspring, Race ROM Offspring, Race Money-earners, Barrel Racing Money-earners, Halter Point Earners, Performance Point Earners.

Today, Bugs Alive is making the greatest impression with his maternal offspring. His own daughters are older now, and growing scarce, but they are still producing horses of rare quality. Equistat has continually listed Bugs Alive In 75 as the number one leading maternal grandsire of barrel horses over the last 10 years, and there is no other horse even close. And by the way, when you look at the statistics, pay attention to the number of horses reported. If only one or two horses contribute to a high rating, then that winning horse could be a fluke. But Bugs Alive In 75 has hundreds of money winning horses contributing to his rating! That suggests this blood wins when crossed with many different types of mares, and when the horses are ridden by many different riders. Year after year, Bugs Alive In 75 continues to be the leading maternal sire of money winning barrel horses.

Bugs Alive died following colic surgery on December 15, 1985 at the age of 12. He was owned by the late Ralph Shebester, and Tommy Wells of Harrah, Oklahoma, stood him. In an interview with Barrel Horse News, Wells was asked about the traits the stallion passed on to his progeny. "Stamina and willpower," he said. "They're not quitters. Bugs wasn't a quitter. Pain's no problem, they just keep going."

In the barrel arena, Bugs Alive has sired some top money earners, and two (2) were out of the great mare, Slash J Harletta, the dam of Fire Water Flit. One of these was Smakabug, a 1980 model that took Celie Ray and Jimmie Munroe to the WPRA pay window. The other was I Got Bugs, a 1982 gelding that Celie Ray rode all the way to the NFR in 1987 and 1989.
