He is very smooth and collected around the barrels

yet he has speed and quickness too. He is powerful out of his turns and truly loves running barrels. It is bred into him and will be passed along to his offspring.

"Backdraft" is also used for roping. He is finished in the healing and has been started in the calf-roping.

He is amazingly "cowy". He runs hard to cattle, has natural rate when he gets to them, and has a deep stop. He pins his ears and will even bite at them.

Besides arena work, he has been used for calving, dragging calves at brandings and other ranch work and he loves it! He never quits, he just keeps going even after working all day. (see photos and video)

Due to my pregnancy I was not able to compete on him at the fall futurities as planned. I did run him at the Bold Heart Futurity (14 weeks pregnant) and we won money! His replacement futurity rider became Hallie Melvin. She ran him at the Fizz Bomb for us, clocking a 16.0 (Brittany Pozzi-Phar won it with a 15.6). So she was not able to take him to the remaining fall futurities due to a shattered wrist.
