Heza Fast Dash Dominates Mardi Gras Trials, Sires 5 Winners, 4 Finalists

(Story from StallionESearch.com)

BOOSIER CITY, LAFEBRUARY 16, 2010Heza Fast Dash dominated the $300,000-est. Mardi Gras Futurity trials on Tuesday afternoon at Louisiana Downs with five trial winners and four finalists. The ten fastest qualifiers from the 129 starters will return March 6th to contest the first official two-year-old futurity of the new year. The race for Louisiana-bred two-year-olds is contested at 300 yards. Heza Fast Dash finished last season as the #8 Leading Sire of 2009 Two-Year-Old Money Earners with more than $1 million in purse money. A gelded son of his, Heza Skipin Fast, kicked off his 2009 campaign in the Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) and went on to earn more than $202,000. Sheza Jess Love led the charge for her paternal siblings when she won the sixth trial by a head over High N Mitey. Racing for Charles Forbes, Jr., the sorrel miss came into the trials off a bullet work recorded at Louisiana Downs in January.

Bred by J.E. Jumonville, Jr. out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Jess Love, Sheza Jess Love was saddled by Frank Cavazos. Juan Vazquez was aboard for the :15.527 clocking, a speed index of 97. Heza Fast Dash's other finalists included third fastest Unrealistic and sixth fastest Illusions Dream, both owned by Gerald Libersat and eighth qualifier Fast Dashing Jewel who races for Ponderosa Ranch PC, Inc., and MCM Farms. Libersat paid $75,000 for Illusions Dream, who won by 1 , and $45,000 for Unrealistic, who scored by 2 lengths, at the LQHBA Yearling Sale last August. Kevin Broussard saddled both qualifiers.

DASH FOR CASH:   Grandsire of Sweep The Leg Johnny

Arguably, the greatest sire of AQHA racing ever. Dash for Cash was sired by Rocket Wrangler. His dam was Find a Buyer (TB). He attained a SI-114 with earning of $507,688.  He was the 1976 & 1977 Racing World Champion. Dash for Cash demonstrated his extreme athletic abilities by finishing no less than second in every race he entered except one. Before long he became (and still is) one of the most sought after bloodline of any stallion because of his offspring’s ability to excel not only on the track but also in the barrel arena. He has offspring earnings of over $39 million on the track, 1 AQHA Supreme Championship, 880 ROM, 39 world championships, and 135 stakes winners. Broodmare sire of 609 dams of 2,624 starters, 1,986 ROM, 1,690 winners, 198 stakes winners, 174 stakes placed, 9 champions, with earnings of $44,645,472.
